TuffSew ZigZag Walking Foot Sewing Machine

The TuffSew ZigZag is a portable heavy duty walking foot sewing machine with zigzag, straight and reverse stitch. Depending on how much work space you require, we offer this machine in two gate lengths: 7″ or 9″. The gate length is the distance between the right side of the needle to the inside wall of the machine.

Our built-in walking foot makes this machine superior to any household or industrial strength sewing machine because it grabs the material from top and bottom, which relieves pressure on the needle assembly. This industrial walking foot machine also features a geared belt pulley drive, which provides greater penetration power and longer belt life. 

Cleated positraction belts combined with a new geared hand wheel pulley, geared reduction pulley, and geared motor pulley eliminate slipping, which allows you to sew heavier fabrics and multiple layers, compared to your traditional sewing machine. 

Purchase this machine with the monster wheel upgrade and receive the extra benefit of adding greater penetration power while simultaneously slowing down the sewing process — which allows you to sew even thicker, coarser substrates like leather and marine canvas with ease. How and why? 

The monster wheel is more than twice the size of the traditional standard flywheel on the machine. The importance is the added 7 pounds the nickel-plated steel monster wheel adds to the machine.

Technically, the monster wheel rotates the upper drive shaft for the machines operation, which causes the needle and hook to move in a manner which produces stitches. The shifting of power through a sewing machine is key — essentially the motor powers a geared belt which then turns the monster wheel — shifting power to the internal components to push the needle through the fabric.

All in all, when you add more weight (with a monster wheel) to the sewing process, the effect is greater needle penetration power and a slower pace, which helps with sewing accuracy.
